Paolo Scaroni: There's Only One Real Team in Milan

AC Milan President , Paolo Scaroni , asserted his club's position as the only 'true team' in the city of Milan. This is a statement that further emphasizes the rivalry with its neighbors, Inter Milan .
This statement was made as the Rossoneri approach their 125th anniversary celebrations.
Scaroni became Milan president in the summer of 2018, when the club was taken over by Elliot after Li Yonghong's troubled ownership. In 2022, he was reinstated as president after Red Bird took over the club.

Scaroni's story
Despite coming from another city and region in Italy, Scaroni is known as a loyal Rossoneri supporter. He certainly didn't want to miss the opportunity to take a dig at their city rivals, Inter.
"I come from Vicenza and came to Milan to study at Bocconi University," Scaroni told reporters at an event at Milan's flagship store in the city centre, as quoted by Football Italia.
"When I first arrived here, I often got lost on the streets and didn't know where San Babila was."
"Look at me now, after so many years, I am the president of the only team in Milan. Honestly, there is only one real team in Milan. This gives me an incredible feeling."
"Imagine, I have been president for almost seven years, a long period, and I had the honour of celebrating AC Milan's 120th anniversary, and now we are reaching our 125th anniversary."

Involvement in New Stadium Project
As Milan president, Scaroni was also involved in talks with Inter and Mayor Beppe Sala regarding the construction of a new stadium in the San Siro area that would be shared by the two clubs.
Scaroni recently said he was more optimistic about the project. Milan have invested in alternative options, with the San Donato area on the outskirts of the city also being considered as a potential location for their future new arena.
